Alice In Wonderland premiered in London last night in front of Prince Charles.
Alice is another Tim Burton / Johnny Depp movie. They’re are a great combination. But I’ll probably not go to the cinema to watch it.
A nice coincidence, Avril has the title track. Life down the rabbit hole would be cool enough if Avril was there with an off-the-shoulder Goth look…

Some winter sunshine today. The first sun I remember since October.
This is my least favourite time of year. Christmas is gone, and now a couple of months until spring and warmth returns.
This year will be quite eventful. A general election due around about April. Then I’m off to South Africa in the summer. It’ll be winter there then. But I avoid the sun anyway, so it’ll be no great loss to me.
And I am launching a new blog this year. I start work on Monday. That’ll keep me occupied until South Africa.

My parents gave me The Wire box set for my birthday.
I’d already seen most of the first two series. I’ve been watching one an evening since October, and it’s been great viewing. I’m just getting to the end of series 4.
The Wire is a powerful stuff. It’s overpowering when you watch all 60 episodes end-to-end. And depressing, the US looks completely dysfunctional. Perhaps the fact that TV shows like The Wire are being produced is reason for optimism.
I love the theme tune. I hadn’t realised that there’s a different version for each series until I watched them back-to-back.

Autumn is giving way to winter.
The days are grey and the nights are drawing in. It seems incredible that only a month ago I was wearing shorts. To mark the dead days of November, I thought to play something different. I have picked a classical piece.
Classical music reminds me of school days. It was the only place I ever heard it. But I own some now. This being one of the CD’s I bought as a cheap lot a few years back.
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is one of my favourite classical pieces. It is a very popular. Spring is probably the better known than Autumn.
